A Diet That Works – part 1

Summer is winding down...we’ve enjoyed vacations, spontaneous fun, and more than likely – a little too much good food!

Now that it’s fall, people start getting back into their routine – kids go back to school and gym memberships increase! We start feeling the need to get back in shape and improve our diet.

It seems to me that everyone I know is on a diet. I’ve been dieting for years! We go on diets so we can get in better physical shape...but what about our spiritual body?

The Bible says our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Over the next few months, we’re going to take a look at “A Diet That Works...12 Ways To Improve Your Spiritual Life.”

#1 Solitude – Spend time alone to be with God.

Find a quiet place to be alone with God for a period of time. Use the Bible as a source of
companionship with God. Listen to Him. Remain alone and still.

John 10:27(NIV) Jesus said,
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow Me.”

The Point Is: “You are never alone when you spend time with God.”

Prayer: “Lord, today when I’m tempted to rush off in all directions, trying to accomplish more and more... teach me self-control, and remind me: The urgent is never important; the important never urgent. It’s You I need to listen to and follow.”
