Be Present Where You Are – part 2
By thinking there is a ‘perfect’ balance between work and home and church, we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. God set up the system of working 6 days, and resting on the 7th day, the Sabbath. We often overbook our schedules and then feel guilty when we rest. Whatever day you take as your Sabbath – take it completely…and rest!
– Seriously evaluate your schedule and remove the things that aren’t important.
Plan and do the things that you know Jesus has called you to do, not what others want you to do for them.
– Work smarter, not harder.
If your work situation requires constant excessive hours to get the job done, pray that God can give you a creative plan!
Proverbs 18:15 (NIV)
vs. 15 “The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.”
To The Point: Remember to have a Sabbath!
Prayer: “Lord, show me how You want me to think and which way to go. Teach me Your ways and guide me with Your strong, gentle hand.”
