How to Embrace the Season
The holidays are just around the corner, and according to everything we see on television or hear on the radio, it’s the “Happiest Time Of The Year!” The days leading up to the holidays are suppose to be filled with music, laughter and love ~ lots of joyful people doing joyful things! But oftentimes, the true meaning of Christmas gets lost among all the glitz and glitter. What can we do truly embrace this upcoming season?
- Remember Jesus.
It’s the birth of Jesus that we celebrate this season! Remember that He is our hope - He saves us, He justifies us, He delivers us! If we’re not rejoicing in Jesus, we’re probably forgetting Him. As ironic as it may be, during the very season meant to celebrate Jesus’ birth and life... we often forget Him.
Philippians 4:4 (NIV): “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”
Here’s the point: “Jesus is the reason for the season!”
Prayer: “Refresh me today, Lord. Help me to remember You sent your Son, Jesus so that I could have life... a joyful life... and that I can have an attitude of gratitude. By the way, ‘Thank you, God.’ ”
