Why am I afraid? – part 2
“The fear of man strangles us, because we can never please everybody; but the fear of the Lord frees us, because it challenges us to live and serve for an audience of One.” – Paul Chappell
Why am I afraid?
- “I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
- “If I get close to someone they will hurt me.”
We live in a society where people want to take the easy road. People have lost the ability to be committed. “Commitment” means to “pledge yourself to a position no matter the price tag; pledging yourself to a stance no matter what the cost.” Have you been hurt by someone’s lack of commitment? I have. But I also know that when I remain faithful to my commitment to God, all of the other circumstances in my life fall in to place, because God is committed to me.
Psalm 37:5-6 (NIV): “Commit your ways to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.”
The Point Is: Don’t let fear of getting hurt keep you from fulfilling what God has for you.
Prayer: “Thank you Lord, for your commitment to me. Help me to remain committed first to You, my church, my family and to others.”
