Why am I afraid? – part 4
“Fear is a self imposed prison that will keep you from becoming what God intends for you to be. You must move against it with the weapons of faith and love.” – Rick Warren
“Why Am I Afraid?”
- “I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
- “If I get close to someone they will hurt me.”
- “I feel so helpless.”
- “I have no hope.”
Of all the fears we’re likely to face in our life, the feeling of hopelessness is probably the most wide spread fear. Jesus is the reason for our hope – go to Him in prayer and ask Him for help. He cares! It’s okay to be honest to Him about your feelings. His words back to you will be, “Don’t be afraid. I can handle it.” Turn your fear into faith!
Romans 15:13 (NIV): “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
The Point Is: To be able to cope, you’ve got to have hope.
Prayer: “Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” - Psalm 25:5
