Prayer – part 4
Over the past few weeks, we looked at the characteristics of prayer. Now, we’re going to look at the content in our lifeline to God.
What is the content of prayer?
1. Pray to be filled with power.
We must admit that the strength and power that we need for living does not come from ourselves, but from God. God is the source for our strength.
Colossians 1:9-12 (NIV)
“...We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of His holy people in the kingdom of light.”
The Point Is: God has an unlimited supply of power to give you the strength that you need.
Prayer: “Lord, give me the strength to hang on during the hard times, and the faith to know You’ll be with me until I come out on the other side.”
