We believe that the SoCal Network Assemblies of God exists for the following purposes:
- To Reach people for Jesus Christ by proclaiming God’s Word in every community (Matthew 28:19; Luke 19:10, Mark 16:15; Psalm 96:3)
- To Inspire leaders by recruiting, training and launching them into ministry (2 Timothy 2:2; Ephesians 4:11,12; 2 Timothy 1:6; Acts 13:2,3)
- To Empower the local church by helping them reach their God-given vision through the Power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 20:28; Deuteronomy 14:2; 1 Peter 2:10)
With God’s help we have set a goal called “Vision 2025”. We are asking God to empower us with His Spirit so that we can make an impact for His Kingdom in the lives of people in our churches, communities and through the world.
This vision will be made reality by the very simple but powerful dual strategy of planting new churches and leading our existing churches to health and effectiveness. When we say “healthy church,” we mean elements like having a tangible impact on its community; Many water baptisms each year; an even balance of attendees between those already committed, new believers and those not yet convinced; and a congregation moving toward multiplication of sites.
There are 25 million people in Southern California, 17 million of them have never had the opportunity to hear the simple truth that “Jesus loves them.” These 17 million are our target audience and are made up of people from across the globe-people that are young and old, rich and poor, educated and not. The most effective means of sharing the love of Jesus with them is church planting. Planting works because the planting team can tailor the church to the individual people group or neighborhood God has called them to reach. Having a church in their own culture or community makes an attractive and relatively easy “bridge” for unchurched people to enter into the Family of God.
To help us achieve our vision, not only is there a strategy in place to plant churches but also to help our existing churches to become healthy and effective. We have created the Leadership Network, which includes resources like Acts 2 Journey, Church Boom, Digital Church Hub and Leadership Coaching.
