Women of socal

Nicky Stade
Executive Director - Women of SoCal

WELCOME TO WOMEN OF SOCAL!

A large majority of the people sitting in the average Assembly of God church are female. Women in the home and in the marketplace, Pastors' wives, female ministers, and sometimes women who are all of these at the same time—women in the SoCal Network serve and lead in the church and community. One thing we all have in common is that no matter where we serve, we can't do it alone. This is why this team exists.

Under the banner of “Women of SoCal” are four distinct areas:

  • Ministry to Women, representing and serving women in the local church
  • Network of Women Ministers, representing and serving female credentialed ministers
  • Pastors Wives & Widows, representing and serving women who are married to ministers in past and present
  • Mujeres de SoCal, representing and serving Spanish-speaking women in the above areas

As Executive Director, I am honored to lead and serve alongside each of the women who direct these areas, as we prayerfully consider how to best support, equip, and resource all women in English or Spanish—whether a woman in the local church, a minister’s wife, or a credentialed female minister. "The Lord gives the word, and a great host of women brings the good news."

Regina Haro
Director of Pastors Wives & Widows | Women of SoCal

Regina Haro is a wife, mother and grandmother. It is evident as you spend time with her that her passion is ministry to women. In addition to serving as the Director of Pastors Wives and Widows, she serves as the Women’s Pastor at the Worship Centre Church in Fowler, California, a position that she has held for 20 years.

She has devoted her life to serve alongside her husband and best friend, Rod, who is the lead pastor at the WCC. This is a miracle church that was once a gambling casino but now has been transformed into a thriving church which is making a life-changing impact in lives and in its community.

Pastor Regina has been married to Pastor Rod for 34 years. Their marriage is known for being a great example of how hard work and a deep commitment can develop into a Christ-centered marriage.

Regina has been called to encourage, nurture and support women in every stage and phase of their lives. Her heart is to walk hand and hand with women as they navigate through all the challenges and issues of life.

Pastor Regina is an excellent motivational speaker with a creative hands-on approach to leading Women’s Ministry. She currently serves on the church staff and on the Region Two Leadership Team. She is looking forward to her new ministry challenge as she is part of the Network Women’s Ministry Team. Her new responsibility will be directed to Pastor’s wives and widows.

Pastors' Wives & Widows Team:

JoAnn Johnson
Director of SoCal Network of Women Ministers | Women of SoCal

JoAnn Johnson is an ordained minister and serves as the Director of the SoCal Network of Women Ministers, whose mission is to connect and resource women called by God. JoAnn, while attending Azusa Pacific University to follow the call of God to be a pastor, first became aware that women face unique challenges in pursuing that call. Having served in ministry under leaders who affirm and encourage the call of God in the lives of women, she desires to be a place of encouragement and empowerment for others, especially those who have not experienced the same level of support.

In addition to her role at the SoCal Network, JoAnn serves as the Executive Pastor at Newbreak Church, a multi-site church in San Diego. She also serves as a Field Rep for the National Network of Women Ministers Under 40 and AG University team, helping universities connect with female students desiring to pursue credentials. In 2019, JoAnn earned her Master's in Leadership from Vanguard University, where she also serves as a guest lecturer and chapel speaker.

JoAnn is blessed to be married to, Eric, who grew up on the mission field and as a pastor’s kid, who now uses his gifts and abilities to help individuals and businesses manage their finances. His global and pastoral insight has been an invaluable blessing in every ministry JoAnn and Eric have been a part of. They have two wonderful sons, Russell and Shane, and love spending time at the beautiful beaches in San Diego.
