CHRISTMAS GIVING CHALLENGE

The Christmas season is about to be in full swing—Christmas parties, presents and fun! It is also the perfect time to teach your kids about generosity and demonstrate to them that they are part of a big purpose! We want to invite you to join us through our Christmas Giving Challenge of providing Kidz Klubz gear kits to the kids of Sri Lanka.

Thousands of Kidz Klubz are forming all over the country of Sri Lanka, where the kids are learning about Jesus—most for the first time ever! These Kidz Klubz gear kits include a backpack, with a book, and a place to keep their personal Bible (that we just raised money for this summer)! Our goal is to build 400 of these gear kits so that we can help open more Kidz Klubz while reaching more kids with the good news of Jesus!

We would love for you to use this Giving Challenge in your Kids Ministry this winter season. Visit www.socalnetwork.org/kids for promotional videos, social media promotion, and flyers that could be printed and distributed.

Here are a few ways to promote and raise money for the Kidz Klubz gear kits this winter:

• Create a goal of how many backpacks your ministry would like to provide for the kids of Sri Lanka.  Share that goal with the kids and families.
• Create a Sunday Challenge by choosing one Sunday as your giving Sunday or anticipate giving throughout each Sunday (and/or weeknight kids’ ministry) in December to see how much you can raise.  Challenge each age group or boys/girls to raise the most during this frame. Show promotional video.
• Have a Christmas present box for each class or group to pour their donations in during the week(s), and give an ice cream or pizza party to the group who raises the most.
• Create a crazy stunt that you or your leaders will participate in if the kids reach their goal.
• Let the kids think of other creative ways to be part: asking for extra chores, having a sale of unused toys and clothes, creating Christmas ornaments or decorations to sell, having a Christmas cookie bake sale at your church to help raise money, etc.
