Mary Lyons Brown

Mary is from Columbus, Georgia where she first fell in love with doing ministry with Chi Alpha Campus Ministries as a college student at her alma mater, Columbus State University (CSU). Upon graduating, she completed the internship to become a Chi Alpha campus ministry associate in 2014. Since then, she’s become an ordained minister (2017), Nationally appointed U.S. missionary with the Assemblies of God (2021), Co-hosted the Network of women minister’s Grow Together podcast (2021-2023), helped start a conference for the African American students attending Chi
Alpha’s across the southeast known as the African American Leadership Conference (2017-2023), and transitioned to Atlanta, GA in 2020 to pioneer and plant a Chi Alpha campus ministry alongside her husband, Devon Brown, at Spelman, Morehouse, and Clark Atlanta (which are all Historically Black Colleges for men and female located in the heart of Atlanta).
Mary is also a huge mental health advocate after navigating her own personal trauma by going to counseling and relying on the strength and hope she’s found in Jesus Christ! Over the eleven years of her doing ministry, she’s considered a privileged and an honor to share her testimony, write devotionals, lead small groups, put on evangelism outreach events, preach, teach, and disciple, all for the hope to help others process suffering against the goodness of God and to see them be transformed by the renewing of their mind (Romans 12:2). Mary is a wife, a friend, a sister, a daughter, minister, mentor, etc. But her greatest and most challenging title yet is being called “mother” after giving birth to her beautiful baby girl, Elaina Brown, on January 2nd of 2024.

Soy hija de misioneros, nacida en Cuba, y he vivido en 7 países los cuales incluye Colombia, Costa Rica, Perú, Egipto, Estados Unidos y por los últimos 25 años, en México. Junto con mi esposo Paul Kazim hemos sido misioneros con las Asambleas de Dios por 32 años. Actualmente trabajamos en el centro de la república mexicana que aborda una población de 75 millones de habitantes, de los cuales más del 97% son inalcanzados.
